Local Strategic Partnerships

In addition to there having been a single countywide Local Strategic Partnership (the Kent Partnership), there were also 8 district based Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) in Kent. Each had their own sustainable community strategy which was unique to that area, although there were many issues which were common to all.

It was vital for the Kent Partnership to work closely with the district LSPs and other partnerships to ensure we complemented each others work and did not duplicate effort. The Vision for Kent was implemented alongside the local community strategies, through their Local Strategic Partnerships.

With the changes in partnership working across the county there are different approaches being taken regarding existing Local Strategic Partnerships. Some are evolving into Locality Boards, whilst others are being either disbanded or retained.

An officer group also met bi-monthly to co-ordinate issues which were common to all LSPs such as ensuring that the priorities of countywide and local LSPs complement each other and that there is a shared understanding of performance.
