Public Service Board

The Kent Public Service Board was set up in September 2004 comprising of leaders from the public sector in Kent and included representation from GOSE and SEEDA. It met every two months.

The Kent Public Service Board has been replaced by the Joint Kent Chiefs who have taken on the responsibilities of the PSB. More information is available on the Joint Kent Chiefs page.

The purpose of the Public Service Board was to support the work of the Kent Partnership by developing a shared agenda for Kent and providing joined-up government locally. It used its shared voice and understanding to influence upwards, seek greater freedom from Government and bend the totality of public sector resources.

It was a non-statutory body which could be characterised as the “Group Board” for Kent’s public services, each of which continued to operate independently. The Board aimed to reconcile competing interestes and combined resources where necessary to deliver joint outcomes and transformational change. It existed within and was accountable to the Kent Partnership.

The role and responsibility, along with the membership, of the Kent Public Service Board can be found below.
