Locality Pilots

Locality Pilots are currently being developed. More information will be available soon.

A number of Locality Boards are also developing locality pilots. These pilots will provide learning for the development of place-based commissioning over time in specific areas.

Locality Pilots aim to support the commitment in the Kent Recommitment which states:

‘Together, we will identify those services which may be better delivered at district level, those services and functions which may be better exercised at county level and those that may be better co-ordinated through local, outcome-based commissioning, bringing together District, local County Council and KCC Cabinet members. We will support greater devolution to our Parishes, Towns and local communities and always champion the needs of local residents and business in Kent.’

The Kent Forum has endorsed in principle Locality Pilots in:

  • Dover focusing on social cohesion and health
  • Sevenoaks around youth services
  • Swale focusing on the Community Budgets pilot
  • Thanet focusing on the Community Budgets pilot
  • Tunbridge Wells around community safety and enforcement
